Dear Resident of Jersey City:

In recent years, Jersey City has been referred to as the "economic engine," largely responsible for generating an upsurge in employment in New Jersey. A good portiion of this growth can be attributed to the development of the Jersey City waterfront, creating a wide range and significant number of jobs and opportunities for the people of Jersey City and beyond. This is simply the beginning and the best has yet to come.

But at the end of the day, at the core of Jersey City's progress are people. People who have the desire to make a difference. People who have big dreams and are willing to go the distance. People who want the best for themselves, their families, and their community.

The Jersey City Employment & Training Program (JCETP) plays an important role in ensuring that Jersey City's "economic engine" is well maintained and that our labor force meets modern and progressive employment standards.

The JCETP, which is a non-profit organization, has been serving Jersey City's skilled workers and job seekers for many years. JCETP is part of a one-stop career center that can assist with an array of employment services designed to meet your needs.

Available services include access to an employment database, interview training, skill testing and analysis, and usage of office equipment, such as the computer, internet, and fax. A one on one case worker is also on staff to provide hands on attention with career counseling, housing referral and clothing assistance. Additionally, special employment guidance is offered for youth ages 14-21.

I urge all of you to take advantage of all that JCETP has to offer, because with JCETP, "Helping Our Community to Work" is not just a slogan, but an endeavor. The agency's satellite location is at 121-125 Newark Avenue and the comprehensive, one stop career center where all partners such as Unemployment Insurance, Employment Service, Literary Labs, and the Business Resource Center is at 438 Summit Avenue first and second floors.

Wishing you all the best in your search for employment.

Sincerely,
Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy
